Experiencing rapid hyper-growth from 2018 to 2022, the company expanded its team to over 700 employees. As a result, its SaaS stack also saw significant growth, with the use of over 250 SaaS tools becoming an inevitable part of this expansion.

Being a tech company, SaaS naturally became their number one expense. Given the current economic context, the company was aiming for a more balanced spending approach. This prompted CTO Thomas to strategically streamline costs, focusing on achieving savings from SaaS expenditures to maintain efficiency and manage growth sustainably.

Iziwork had already taken steps to improve its purchasing and negotiation processes, addressing issues like contract complexities and user licenses. Welii's involvement built on these initial efforts, providing a significant boost to their effectiveness and streamlining overall operations.

The collaboration with Iziwork significantly optimised their cost management, leveraging our deep expertise in SaaS contracts. This strategic approach led to direct savings and revolutionised Iziwork’s contract management practices. They realised the best deals, reflecting our profound impact on their negotiation strategies.

Our methods sped up negotiations, achieving favourable outcomes swiftly and marking a shift beyond mere cost-efficiency. We also challenged their existing tool stack assessing the effectiveness and necessity of each. This critical evaluation led to more strategic decisions, underscoring the importance of challenging choices to align with their overarching goals.

The main benefits of working with Welii are cost reductions, and rationalisation of costs that are incomparable, but it's also the fact that my team learn and understand well beyond their initial approach the subtleties of contracts.

Additionally, our expertise in smart negotiation and strategic planning guided Iziwork towards enhanced efficiency and sustainability. Our joint efforts in various negotiations resulted in over 210,000€ savings, a 40% total reduction, and an ROI surpassing 500%. This was especially beneficial for Iziwork, as they were in the midst of an internal phase focused on cost rationalisation.

At Iziwork, we went through a phase of cost rationalisation internally, we pushed as far as we could. And Welii allowed us to generate much more savings. Even surprisingly to an extent,  I didn't expect such a high return on investment. But I was of course over the moon.

These savings were reinvested into expanding Iziwork's team, facilitating their growth. This cycle of reinvestment and development not only resulted in immediate financial gains but also yielded long-term organisational progress.

Thoroughly understanding needs and combatting over-usage

A notable example of valuable impact was evident when Iziwork depleted a two-year credit in 18 months, without any prior warning. As this tool was essential in their strategy, they risked considerable additional fees. To combat this, we conducted a thorough analysis of product usage and volumes, leading to various cost-effective proposals.

Our familiarity with the provider enabled us to efficiently negotiate a 65% cost reduction and a future-proof contract within just ten days, significantly shorter than the usual 45-day period. This collaboration with Iziwork not only aligned the contract with their objectives but also led to significant savings—reducing their costs from 212,000€ to 76,000€, including a 19% discount per credit. We implemented a buffer volume in the contract to prevent similar issues in the future, ensuring Iziwork's long-term stability and cost management.

By utilising our platform that centralises and monitors SaaS contracts, such challenges would not recur, enhancing Iziwork’s proactive management of future tools and providing greater foresight in decision-making and costs.
